Re: COSC and David Thompson
Hi Obi,
You are right in his own way VZ has done a very good job over many years the sad part is that rather than engage in rational dialogue and work to dispel these questions encouraging Dt into test seancs. He has reacted so offensively to anyone who raises any question whatsoever. Made worse by the ongoing attaccks from the senior members of teh COSC. Smacks a little of the Ifeel they do protest too much.

Hey Jim
In a way VZ has helped me to focus on the 'what' rather than the 'whom'. In common with the earlier poster Lyf, I recall being shocked at how much well-attested evidence/testimony was around and how little of it seemed to be known to a wide audience.
I don't have a view on DT as I do not know him and have not been to any of his events. I do think that if one is rationally convinced of something as VZ appears to be, then it is unwise to be provoked by people who challenge that knowledge. Frankly it just makes a person look hysterical. After all, if I assert something is true then I am inviting you to believe me. If you don't know me well then you will form a view of my reliability as a witness based on my behaviour.
I long ago lost faith in long lists of academic credentials being of much value in guaranteeing a person is rational, honest or even knowledgeable in matters outside their specialty. I don't think a lawyer or a doctor or a physicist is any more qualified to report what they have observed than a person of reasonable intelligence and presence of mind of any profession, or none.
One can either respond calmly and reasonably to criticism or remain silent. Entering into the arena of personal insult and threat can make a person appear at least slightly unhinged.
One of the reasons I like this forum because I have found those with knowledge and experience to be patient and willing to answer genuine questions based on their own experience and not theories or religious dogma. It is possible to disagree and challenge and still remain polite. In some instances, not on here so far I hasten to add, my how the mask slips when pressure is applied no?

Obiwan, yes I am quite surprised how little is known about these things in the society that I live in here in America. These famous mediums seem to be predominantly from Australia, the UK, South America, and South Africa. I think the USA had a period of spiritism and seances in the mid-1800s and many fraudulent acts where discovered. So, it has been rejected here for the most part. I was somehow directed to the Victor Zammit website. I really don't even recall how. But when I found it I was fascinated at the amount of information Zammit presents that can actually be verified. I had thought it was almost an oxymoron to "prove" the existence of the soul. I had always believed it was mainly a matter of faith. But now I find it very exciting that verifiable proof seems available to the satisfaction of the human mind. That is truly revolutionary. Imagine how different the world would be if men really knew that there is no death and that what we do and how we think in this world will determine the kind of life we will have in the next world. I dare say it would bring an end to war and needless suffering. I'm basically a neophyte in this field of spiritualism or metaphysics, or whatever you call it. So, there is much for me to read. I'm not an avid reader, but this kind of information is so compelling that I am turning into one. I look forward to finding out more every day.

"The age old question of what happens after we die seems to have already been answered!"
Answered time, after time, after time.... And yet I spend hours 'speaking' to seekers who have little idea such information is available. Here in the UK and there in the USA alike, sadly.
Seekers who use similar words to us but whose ideas and thoughts are scarcely reconcilable with ours. Only this week I have spent countless hours trying to tease out what others mean by 'medium' and 'mediumship'
From the many postings I read it's clear that definitions vary greatly yet so few can write even a couple of lines to explain simply how they see matters.
Hey. ho, onward and upward. This week is another time - maybe it will be more fruitful!
