The Curious Case of David Thompson and Victor Zammit

Hi All,

I have just done a bit of work on page 2 of this thread to put right a shortcoming in the Conan Doyle link. Unfortunately the embedded video is not working for me so I have put a link in.

I have also put a link to a Ghandi video on the nextt post down. In honesty just listen to these two voices to see how far apart they are there is no similarity and this is the "man" they accepted as Ghandi on the word of Cadwell who never existed.

I have been told that there may be troubles over the European visit but I wait to see..it may be too expensive. It has also been reported to me that the COSC website is malfunctioing. I had a look and it seems to be in a mess at the moment with much missing and may bits missing e.g. no registration or members log in.

Seems there may be some problem there.

Oh Dear Victor Zammit is getting upset again. From this weeks Zammit Report Friday 22nd May 2009

So, he challenges us about proving that those who come through are who they claim to be! We are professionals who investigated David Thompson on a weekly basis for fifteen months. We are university trained in the admissibility of evidence backed with practical experience in the Magistrates', District and the Supreme Courts; two of us investigating David have professional qualifications in Scientific Method, and two are also professional psychologists. I am informed that this objector is not educated; he certainly shows he has not finished high school and reveals colossal ignorance on many procedural aspects of empirical methodology. As for 'peer' review, we do NOT have to obtain approval from anybody else in Europe about what we do here. We have OUR own professional standards. So, if you read ‘Where is the Evidence Victor’ have pity on someone who is making a fool of himself and who is out of his depth."

Now where do you start, we have already picked over the investigators and got it down to 3 of the circle, one of whom is DT,

However the outrageous comment which goes against all the rules of Spirit Communication is

when we ALWAYS state:"We do NOT guarantee that all those who materialize are who they claim to be!"

We know by the evidence none of his guides are who they claim, now he is sayng none of the celebrities or spirit visitors may be who they say. Just exactly what is going on in these Seances when none of the Spirits may be as they say, or can be relied upon for the truth?

All of the great mediums of the past were worried about this validation. He quotes Estelle Roberts and links her name with DT earlier in his report. There is no comparison as she willingly subjected herself to investigation which Dt has consistently refused. Indeed Estellle is commonly seen as a great Medium in all types of work a claim DT clearly falls shprt of in all the independent reports we see.

All of the past greats agonised over the reality of the contact with Spirit. Their ability to trust the communicator to tell the Truth was seen as vital. In one stroke of the pen VZ has shown that COSC and he do not believe their validation is at all important.

In 'Killer' Zammit's outburst he refers to "This anti-materialization objector who has never ever attended a David Thompson materialization and who appears to be very slow in understanding..." - who on earth is he referring to?

1. David Thompsom does NOT hold materialisation seances because he is NOT a materialisation medium.

2. 'slow in understanding' what?

A good question Z who is it? you also make a very good point and I discovered a copy of his admission to not being a Materialisation Medium which he made on the old SCR just the other day.

I also failed to point out that VZ also indicated a real TV Documentary on the After Life was to be produced. This would include an interview with Wiliam Charles Cadwell.

I trust that VZ, COSC and Dt will have no input to control the questions. I also hope the interviewer is fully apprised of the genealogical evidence of WCCS non existence and of his wonderful knowledge of Aspirins Aids and Downs Syndrome. It could make an interesting piece of TV if they follow up on these issues. Maybe we could get some answers.

I wonder who will make a docmentary on the Afterlife - it's unlikely to be a mainstream broadcaster.

If they have done their research properly they will be aware of the the Thompson controversy and therefore should present both sides of the question.

How can Zammit say: "I guarantee that William is an afterlife intelligence - after investigating David Thompson every week for some fifteen months." He has never seen him nor has he asked him to explain why there is no evidence of 'William's' earth life despite the latter giving his birth and death years.

Also I note that he is promoting Ron Gilkes' book - is he not aware that it is simply a diary of the first year of his experiences with Warren Caylor!

There's a cloud of absurdity surrounding the antics of these individuals.

The issue of evidence is constantly rubbished as if by doing that the fundamental principle can simply be set aside as irrelevant...

On a different tack, although somewhat related, I post elsewhere and the principle of 'evidence' is something I am constantly banging on about. I may as well be speaking a foreign language as the word - and its implication - is rarely used by anyone else. I wonder if it's even understood in the manner we use it? It certainly seems not from what I read.

What has gone wrong, I wonder, that so many are prepared to make, and vociferously defend, claims of success which plainly fail the tests of firstly providing evidence and secondly failing to appeal to the reason of a thinking person?

Quite right Mac. In courts people give evidence as Zammit knows yet when it comes to David Thompson he is prepared to put it to one side. He quotes Estelle Roberts and thinks she is in the same class as Thompson!

Her evidence was detailed and printed for all to see. We never see verbatim accounts of the alleged evidence through Thompson.

Now we know from all the questions in this thread that William has failed to be truthful about who or what he really is, that the wisdom he brings over, such as the aspirins, can be truly dangerous, that prononcements of curing cancer to one who dies two weeks later are despicable and that noone has ever seen one of these materialisations. Even this "purpose" is a string of well meaning platitudes which most of us wanting to promote Spiritualism could have rolled out.

Sadly we are no closer to getting any genuine answers. It may also appear that thise interested in physical mediumship are moving on, No move for Zerdin Phenomenal to use his services again and Victor himself visiting 4 other groups.

Oh well

Zammit's outpourings become more absurd by the day.

I hear on the grapevine that DT has 6 seances of 30 people sold out in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

Just wonder what he is charging for this and how it will pass by the US authorities. Is he going anywhere else I wonder? I notice that it is not mentioned either on his site or by VZ. Maybe afetr the problems created by the old SCR he wants no one to know.

I expect he has a work permit and will pay all the tax due to the INS...
