PM4U = History? Empty PM4U = History?

Hi all,

I've noted that PM4U seems to be offline now, as it was apparently announced before.
Does anybody know why?

Cost was part of it, maybe a major part, although Robin Foy did hint that someone else might be about to step in to pick up the reins. Watch that space!

Thanks for the info, Mac.
Cost? What an earthly reason... For a second, I hoped that Robin might have opened his eyes, finally, and realized that all the "mediums" he supported there were not that mediumistic and trustworthy as he thought...

Cost? I know it was a bit customised but was not it on a forum like this; even if it was from a different organisation?

Perhaps I've got it wrong, Jim, but I thought he'd said cost was the reason. It was suggested another individual or group might keep things going. I can't for the life of me think where I saw all this but it might have been a circular email message. I'll see if I can find it if so....

PM4U = History? Empty Re: PM4U = History?

"I emailed all members a while ago to let you know that this must also apply to my website: Physical Mediumship 4U, and now there are just a few more days before the site is scheduled to close.

Due to the generosity of one of our members, however, we are currently working on the possibility that he will shortly be in a position to host a re-vamped PM4U site on one of his own servers, and help with its re-building.

In the meantime, the site as it stands (as a 'Ning' site) will shortly disappear.

I started the website over seven and a half years ago, in February 2009, in order to share my specialist knowledge (gained over 43 years), as well as to help and advise people all over the world who are seriously interested in Physical Mediumship and its Phenomena.

I am very proud of the fact that we now have over 3,100 members at PM4U after all this time, many of whom (I hope) I have been able to help along the way to developing or witnessing this unique form of mediumship (in its two different formats) for themselves, and it is a joy to me that I can now count many of these PM4U members amongst my closest Personal Friends.

There are three specific reasons why the current site will be closing shortly:

Firstly, the site itself is in a somewhat old-fashioned format, and requires rebuilding in a more up-to-date fashion. I lack the technical ability to do that myself, and feel that perhaps it is time to bring this site - hosted by Ning - to a natural ending. Perhaps this is the time now for me to move into a new phase - looking at something different in addition to the possibility of a re-vamped site.

Secondly, I have always insisted that the PM4U site should be a free site for its members, and have funded the monthly costs from my own pocket throughout its life. Limited book sales of my own books and of the 'Basic Guide' have helped in a small way, but have not completely covered the costs.

Whilst my own pension income stayed at a steady level until June 23rd this year, it has not been easy to deal with the fact that the 'Brexit' Vote has now reduced that income by 18% at a single stroke, with no immediate prospect of improvement.

Thirdly, 'the straw that broke the camel's back' was the announcement by PM4U's site hosts 'Ning' that they will be doubling the monthly fees to host the site from October. Regrettably, that announcement has made it quite impossible for me to continue running the site and - from a moral point of view - I do not agree with their decision to charge so much extra without their supplying extra services.

However, I shall continue to save important records, photos and data from the site over the next week until it closes.

I would like to stress that for those interested in my books, there is still a last opportunity for PM4U members to buy copies of 'Witnessing the Impossible' (at a specially reduced sale price) and download copies of 'The Basic Guide' books from: http://www.scoleexperiment.com or to buy my first book 'In Pursuit of Physical Mediumship' direct from the publisher: http://www.januspublishing.co.uk/produc ... mediumship

Even when the site closes, I will continue to be available to answer questions, or to help and advise anyone who is seriously interested in the subject of Physical Mediumship and its Phenomena, on Facebook, or via either of my email addresses: scolehole@yahoo.co.uk or scoleexperiment@yahoo.co.uk

THANK YOU ALL SINCERELY FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT ON PM4U

With Love and Blessings to you all

Robin Foy

Interesting Mac and I think I can understand his route of choice, Ning was obviously fairly dear. I wonder what would happen here if, in the next few years when I retire, this forum began to charge more than the small amount that it does to buy the web name. As these forums are all that would happen would it would revert to a forummotion web name at no charge. Should I then fall off the perch I could see it disappearing into the continuum of time like an unmanned spaceship.

I have no idea about costs and wouldn't know if one was expensive vs. another.... I'm always grateful that we members can use 'em without charge.

I wonder if others appreciate their privilege?
